  • BEST CAMPAIGN

    This marketing campaign can be for any event format, and should demonstrate how an integrated marketing approach has delivered a strong conversion for the event in question.

    Judges will assess the entry on the following:

    • The role that social media plays in increasing the engagement of your brand
    • Examples of a content-led marketing approach, distributed via channels appropriate for that market (print and digital, above and below the line)
    • Examples of robust management of audience data to enable effective targeting of your market
    • Actual attendee numbers versus target, and proof of how these were converted
    • Customer feedback and testimonials from the event itself

  • BEST NETWORKING EVENT

    This event can be anything which doesn’t fit the mould of a traditional conference, expo or awards show. For example: brand partnership events, hosted-buyer events, training events, etc.

    Judges will assess the entry on the following:
    • Return-on-investment for sponsors and exhibitors
    • Innovative uses of technology
    • Steps taken to promote and encourage networking
    • Attendee satisfaction
    • Sound commercial performance
    • How the event serves its community and how that community is built and developed throughout the rest of the year.

  • BEST BRAND EXPERIENCE

    This category recognises events that have gone over and above to bring the brand to life.

    Judges will assess the entry on the following:

    • Evidence of strong engagement with the audience/general public, both before, during and after the event
    • Showcasing how the marketing plan was activated into a live experience
    • Inclusion of creative and/or experiential elements that enhance the customer journey
    • Examples of how commercial partners (if relevant) were incorporated organically into the event experience

    What makes your awards event special...and successful? We want to recognise fresh thinking being applied to a classic format.

    Judges will assess the entry on the following:

    • Evidence of commercial success
    • Level of creativity and innovation applied – what steps have been taken to incorporate fresh ideas, not usually seen at an awards event?
    • Stringent entry process and thorough category criteria
    • Credibility of the judging process
    • How the ceremony was designed to suit the audience
    • Evidence of any experiential/immersive elements

    Large or small, we want to reward those conferences that push the envelope and achieve a strong return against objectives.

    Judges will assess the entry on the following:

    • The journey from conception to launch
    • The process of programme development and research
    • Proof of effective data management, audience targeting and how this converted to footfall
    • Performance against commercial goals
    • Satisfaction of delegates and partners
    • Performance against business model, including delegate numbers/quality, conversion rates, etc.
    • Feedback and value provided to the market
    • Evidence of any experiential/immersive elements

    This category refers to a large-scale event that attracts large footfall, such as an exhibition or a festival. It can be a ticketed or free to attend event.

    Judges will assess the entry on the following:

    • Evidence of strong ROI and ROO for your commercial partners
    • Visitor numbers against target – how did your audience engage with this event and how was this measured?
    • Use of technology and other innovations
    • Ease of networking
    • Performance against business plan and commercial goals
    • Evidence of a 360 communications plan, and impact within the sector
    • Evidence of any experiential/immersive elements

  • BEST USE OF SOCIAL MEDIA

    This category recognises successful social media campaigns that have delivered positive results for an event or event brand.

    Judges will assess the entry on the following:

    • Evidence of using creativity to engage your audience via social media platforms
    • Examples of the measures put in place to assess the effectiveness of your social media campaigns
    • Examples of specific campaigns and their performance against KPI’s.
    • Examples of how the social media strategy is managed as part of a wider project, both internally and by using external resources.

  • BEST INTERNATIONAL EVENT

    This category is for an event or portfolio of events from a UK based company that has been either a) successfully replicated from the UK into international markets or b) launched directly into international markets.

    Judges will assess the entry on the following:

    • Performance against commercial targets and the business plan
    • Engagement levels of the international audience in question
    • Management of staffing, agencies (if relevant) and internal workflows required to make the event a success
    • Feedback from the market and overall impact of the event
    • Evidence of any experiential/immersive elements

    This launch could be a brand extension or a standalone event/series of events.

    Judges will assess the entry on the following:

    • How the content & design was developed to suit the audience (market research)
    • Indicators of commercial performance
    • Impact of the event, both on the day and afterwards
    • Effective marketing activity
    • Audience satisfaction (attendees/sponsors/speakers)
    • Understanding of the competition and target market

    We want to reward event leaders that effectively lead a group of people to achieve strong event success and job satisfaction. This entry can refer to a function-based team (e.g. delegate sales team) or an event-specific project team.

    Judges will assess the entry on the following:

    • Evidence of leading the team with a clear purpose and vision 
    • Evidence of aligning and delegating tasks effectively  to achieve desired results
    • Performance against commercial targets, where relevant
    • Commitment and knowledge of their relevant sector
    • Bringing about meaningful change or innovation, that moved the team and/or product portfolio forward 
    • Developing a culture that fosters leadership development e.g. encouraging employees and colleagues through coaching, training or mentorship
    • Demonstrating leadership in moments of crisis or change.
    • Evidence of personal impact made, via testimonials from colleagues and market feedback

    • Spirit and work ethic of the team
    • Examples of strong feedback received from the audience

    This entry can be someone working in any function, e.g. ops, content, sales or marketing.

    Judges will assess the entry on the following:

    • Commitment and knowledge of their relevant sector
    • Evidence of creativity and innovation
    • Attention paid to the customer journey
    • Ability to problem-solve and achieve desired results
    • Evidence of personal impact made, via testimonials from your colleagues and market feedback

    This category rewards an event that has challenged the status quo and succeeded. It could be a reimagined version of a long-running event, or a brand new one.

    Judges will assess the entry on the following:

    • Evidence of fresh and innovative ideas being implemented
    • Evidence of a significant impact being made on the industry/audience as a result of this event
    • Proof of success, via performance against KPI’s and testimonials
    • Explanation of the strategy that was followed, from concept to implementation.
