Print and paper experts from the magazine publishing industry took centre stage on March 29 as the PPA unveiled the winners of the Production and Environment Awards 2012.
The winners were announced at a ceremony attended by around 170 publishers and industry suppliers at the exclusive OXO2 venue on London’s Southbank.
IPC Media scooped two awards on the night for Best Production Initiative (Supplier or Publisher) and Best Production Team.
In the supplier categories, Stephen & George was named Best Magazine Printing Company while Denmaur Independent Paper won the award for Best Magazine Paper Supplier/Paper Merchant. ITM won the Best Magazine Pre-Media Company award.
In the awards for environmental achievement, the Best Environmentally Sustainable Business went to Haymarket Media Group in the publisher category and to Pensord in the supplier category.
Business publisher UBM took the award for Best Environmental Initiative (Supplier or Publisher) and David Halford of BBC Worldwide won the Best Environmental Person or Team (Supplier or Publisher) award.
Rose Benjamin, Head of Production, Environment and IPN at the PPA, said: “These awards are dedicated to celebrating the excellent but often unsung work of the production and environment professionals working within publishers and the wider publishing industry.
“Everyone who takes away one of these coveted awards can be proud that they have set a benchmark for excellence in a business that has never been so competitive.”
