The Scottish School Magazine Competition, a unique and ground-breaking competition, was launched by PPA Scotland in 2006 and is open to every secondary school in Scotland.
This special competition offers a rigorous and credible platform to recognise and reward achievement by senior secondary school pupils and provides a wonderful opportunity for pupils who are interested in writing, design or IT, have great ideas and would like to work as a team to create a school magazine, newsletter or online edition.
It is crucially important to capture the interest and enthusiasm of young people before they take decisions about college and university courses. Through this competition, pupils develop self-confidence, self-reliance and ambition, helping them to realise their potential in life and in work.
This country’s future depends on young people with positive attitudes and good core skills; who understand about business and entrepreneurship; and who are eager to benefit from lifelong learning, starting in the classroom.
The Scottish School Magazine Competition has been generously supported by Determined to Succeed (DtS), the Scottish Government’s enterprise in education initiative; The General Teaching Council for Scotland; Times Educational Supplement Scotland and many of Scotland’s leading magazine publishers and suppliers.
