The panel will consist of:
New magazine publisher 404 Ink, a new, alternative independent publisher who launched their first issue ‘Error’ in November 2016, and their more recent publication ‘Nasty Women’ after a hugely successful Kickstarter campaign which raised over twenty thousand pounds in under three days!
One the UK’s leading media organisations, DC Thomson, will be talking about their new glossy multi-platform video game magazine created for children aged 8-12 years old, '110% Gaming', after identifying a gap in the market for a trusted gaming magazine for younger gamers.
We will also hear from content marketing agency White Light Media, who publish UK drinks magazine 'Hot Rum Cow'. First published in 2012, this collectable 'bookazine' was created to celebrate the world of drinks by exploring brand stories and the people behind them. The magazine also acts as a promotional tool for White Light Media, showcasing their design and marketing talents.
The session will be moderated by Sam Bradley and Bethany Thompson of Counterpoint, who published their online first magazine in 2013 and went on to produce their first printed version in 2015. Counterpoint is a quarterly independent magazine featuring original writing and illustration. Each issue has a unique theme which contributors respond to with their own ideas, resulting in an eclectic array of quality content.
