PPA has agreed recycling target rates with Government. As part of this agreement PPA provides an annual report to Defra which outlines its progress on the recycling targets and PPA's environmental activities. The agreement means that publishers are working with the Government to raise the level of post-consumer magazine recycling to 70% by 2013. PPA exceeded this target in 2008 with a level of 72%. In order to continue to raise these levels, publishers are encouraged to use the WRAP Recyclenow logo and advertisements within magazines which encourage their readers to recycle their magazines rather than send them to landfill.
PPA works with WRAP (Waste Resources Action Programme), a government agency which aims to encourage businesses and consumers to recycle and use recycled products.
