Report: Breakfast briefing for independent publishers on adopting digital workflow systems

WoodWing and Evolved Media hosted a breakfast briefing at the PPA’s Shoreditch HQ on November 27, bringing together independent publishers to explore how they can adopt technology to run more efficient content workflows

The roundtable session, led by Russell Pierpoint, Founder and Managing Director of PPA Associate Member Evolved Media, enabled publishers and production experts to discuss how best to approach implementing and embedding a system to support digital asset management, content creation and distribution across multiple platforms.
Maarten Reinders, Chief Commercial Officer of WoodWing, provided a global view of how publishers are currently tackling this challenge based on the experiences of WoodWing’s worldwide customer base.
 
Attendees also heard from Julian Adams, IT Director at Immediate Media Co, who outlined the company’s transition to a cloud-based digital production workflow which incorporates WoodWing’s Elvis Digital Asset Management (DAM) system and Enterprise Aurora for content creation. 
In the open conversation that followed, attendees had the opportunity to share their experiences in digital asset management and digital workflow, and also to speak about some of the broader challenges related to managing new IT implementations.
 
Maarten Reinders, Chief Commercial Officer of WoodWing, said: “All publishers are looking for ways to be more efficient and productive but smaller, independent publishers face specific challenges in achieving this goal. Bringing people together at the PPA provides a forum for people to share their knowledge and experiences, and to take away key learnings that will enhance production processes within their own business.”
 
Russell Pierpoint, Founder and MD of Evolved Media, added: “The conversation was particularly interesting because it was very focused on practical solutions and sharing real-world experience. I hope this is the first of many briefings and the start of a meaningful conversation that I’m sure will bring real value to publishers in the UK and Europe.”
