Future Publishing agrees £1m trucking sale

Future Publishing announced it had completed the sale of its trucking portfolio.Trucking and Truckstop News were sold to Kelsey Publishing Limited in a deal that could be worth up to £1.1m. Kelsey has paid £1m to secure the titles with a further £0.1m deferred subject to their financial performance over the next 12 months.


 

Country Life publishes Diamond Jubilee collectors' issue

Country Life published its Diamond Jubilee collectors’ issue. At 370 pages, it is one of the biggest issues Country Life has ever produced and comes with a gold embossed cover. Editorial includes a collection of the magazine’s famous frontispiece pages featuring the Queen, a feature on her outfits, and an article on the 11 men and one woman who held the position of Prime Minister during her reign and their relationship with her. There will also be the usual weekly editorial mix of property, architecture, gardens, food and countryside.


 

Marie Claire secures eBay Fashion as app sponsor

Marie Claire secured eBay Fashion as sponsor of its newly-launched app.As part of the three-month sponsorship deal, the e-tailer has bespoke in-app branding and video, along with ownership of all advertising. The free app is available for iPhone and Android phones and provides the latest news and reviews from the world of fashion.


 

Gardeners' World publishes scented cover

Gardeners’ World Magazine pubished a scented cover for the first time in its June issue.The innovative scented lavender cover is promoting a garden aroma themed issue as part of the title’s Springtime push for extra sales. It is the first time a gardening title, or a BBC brand has used a scented cover in this way. The magazine also comes with an A5 bound-in insert card that features three other scents; tomato leaf, sweet violet and a mystery scent for the reader to guess.


 

Decanter launches DecanterChina.com

Decanter, the IPC Media-owned title, launched a new website aimed at the Chinese wine market. DecanterChina.com will be a bi-lingual site published in both English and simplified Chinese text. Two new editorial staff have been assigned to work on the site and they will report in to Editor John Abbott. “We are very excited to be able to bring our significant publishing experience to engage with a new audience of wine lovers,” said Abbott.


 

T3 becomes fully optimised for the iPad3

Future Publishing announced it had fully optimised the iPad edition of T3 for the latest high-resolution version of the tablet. The publisher said the iPad3 had enabled it to produce a ‘punchier, cleaner and more vibrant’ digital magazine. The launch of the new edition will be supported by the biggest marketing campaign since T3 arrived on the iPad. The multi-platform campaign is hoping to encourage sampling with an introductory offer for a limited period of £1.99.
