Top of the Pops magazine gets a new look
Top of the Pops magazine, which is published by Immediate Media Co, was revamped. The new-look issue has a sophisticated new design, upgraded paper and brighter colours. Editorial will continue to focus on pop bands and celebrities as well as including an expanded fashion section and all the latest shopping news. The new-look magazine goes on sale 20 June 2012 and remains priced at £2.99.
IPC Media to launch 30 titles on Apple's Newsstand
IPC Media unveiled plans that will see it launch 30 brands on Apple’s Newsstand.Over the next fortnight 14 IPC brands will be made available internationally on the platform and a further 16 titles will launch by the end of August 2012. The first title to launch include Country Life, Cycle Sport, Cycling Weekly, Decanter, Golf Monthly, NME, Practical Boat Owner, Rugby World, Uncut, Wallpaper*, What Digital Camera, World Soccer, Yachting Monthly and Yachting World.
Immediate Media Co launches Girl Talk Art magazine
Immediate Media Co has launched Girl Talk Art as a monthly title following a successful one-shot trial.Priced at £2.99, the interactive magazine is aimed at the 1.1 million 7-12 year old girls in the UK who love drawing, painting and craft. Each issue will contain step-by-step guides on how to create items to make and wear, ideas for bedroom décor and gifts, plus art techniques. The first issue comes with a free ‘Fashion studio set’ containing a mannequin and fabrics, gems and sequins.
Wired unveils first 2012 conference speakers
Wired announced the first speakers at its Wired 2012 conference. Speakers will include Troy Carter, Manager of Lady Gaga and Founder and CEO of Atom Factory, Lily Cole, model, actress and sustainability champion and David Karp, Founder and CEO of Tumblr. The list also includes English designer Thomas Heatherwick, Ajaz Ahmed, Founder of AKQA, Britain’s largest independent digital agency and artist Alexa Meade.
Vogue launches in Thailand
Condé Nast announced plans that will see it launch Vogue in Thailand.It is the 21st international edition of the magazine and closely follows the announcement that Vogue will launch in the Ukraine in 2013. The publisher has signed a license agreement to publish the fashion title in partnership with Serendipity Media Co. Ltd, a new Thai company established for this venture.
