Immediate Media Co snaps up Cloth title

Immediate Media Co acquired Cloth Magazine from Real Design and Media for an undisclosed sum. The craft and sewing title will sit within the publisher’s craft portfolio, which also includes Cardmaking & Papercraft and The World of Cross Stitching. The first issue of the title to be published by Immediate Media Co is on sale now under the direction of Creative Development Publisher Anna Davenport and Publishing Director Cath Potter. The title is published quarterly, with a cover price of £3.50.


 

Company magazine to star in Hollyoaks

Company and Hollyoaks have teamed up to produce a fantastic new storyline.In a special week of episodes, two Hollyoaks characters will land their dream internship at Company magazine as the Cheshire-based soap heads to London. Company Editor Victoria White will play an exaggerated and meaner version of herself, while other magazine employees have been dramatised as characters and will be portrayed by actors.


 

Grazia recruits Gaby Hinsliff

Grazia magazine appointed Gaby Hinsliff as its new Political Editor-at-Large.Hinsliff began her political reporting career at the Daily Mail before joining The Observer, where she subsequently became the youngest political editor on Fleet Street. She spent twelve years covering politics and has also regularly featured on programmes including Women’s Hour and the Today programme.


 

NME launches 2012 music photography awards

NME partnered with camera manufacturer Nikon to find the UK’s best music photographers with the launch of the 2012 NME Music Photography Awards competition.The competition aims to find the most original music photography from both amateur and professional photographers. After being rated on the NME website, the entries will go on to be judged by a specially selected expert panel including renowned music photographers and experts from Getty Images.


 

Shortlist publishes Spiderman special edition cover

Shortlist published a special edition cover to celebrate the launch of The Amazing Spiderman film.The publisher has teamed up with Sony Pictures and media agency Manning Gottlieb OMD, to create a latticed, leather-effect, glossy cover wrap that allows readers to touch the superhero’s costume. The magazine also includes exclusive interviews with lead stars Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone alongside producer Matthew Tolmach.


 

Edge magazine launches on the iPad

Edge, the multi-format videogame magazine, has launched a fully-interactive version on the iPad.The first iPad edition is on sale now with with video game developer Square Enix as its solus launch partner. The issue contains a raft of interactive content in addition to the print edition, including animations, video, additional content and sharable text. It also features an interactive cover wrap and three Square Enix interactive adverts within the launch issue.


 

Healthy publishes British Olympians special edition magazine

River published a special edition British Olympians issue of its Healthy magazine title.The British Olympians past and present went into stores last Saturday with triathlete Vanessa Raw as the cover star. Editorial includes interviews with Sally Gunnell, Fatima Whitbread, Jessica Ennis, Rebecca Adlington, and Victoria Pendleton.
