BBC Gardeners' World magazine appoints new Editor

BBC Gardeners’ World magazine appointed a new Editor after founding Editor Adam Pasco stepped down from the role.Lucy Hall takes up her new position later this month after spending 10 years as Deputy Editor and Pasco will remain with the title as Editor-at-Large following 22 successful years as Editor. In further changes to the editorial team, David Hurrion, Horticultural Editor, is promoted to Deputy Editor and Ross Bayton, Horticultural Writer, is promoted to Gardening Editor.


 

Zest magazine features Olympic cover trio

Zest magazine featured three Olympic stars on its August issue - the first time in the magazine’s 17.5-year history that a trio has graced the cover. Cyclist and Zest columnist, Victoria Pendleton is joined on the cover by hurdler, Perri Shakes-Drayton, and open-water swimmer, Keri-Anne Payne. Editorial features interviews with the athletes on their confidence to aim high, what the Olympics mean to them and how they hope London 2012 will encourage more young women to take up sport. Glamour magazine hosts reader question time with Prime Minister

Glamour magazine held a special private reader question and answer session with Prime Minister David Cameron at 10 Downing Street. After an introduction from Editor Jo Elvin, a group of thirty hand-picked readers had one hour to put their questions to David Cameron. The all-female panel came from all over the UK, representing a cross section of opinion. GLAMOUR.com live tweeted from Downing Street, and captured the event on film for use on the website at a later date.


 

Sport magazine agrees Coty deal

Sport magazine agreed a multiplatform sponsorship deal with Coty Prestige’s Davidoff Coolwater brand.The partnership, which was set up by OMD, launches with a coverwrap on Sport and continues throughout the rest of the year. Content will focus on Davidoff’s Love the Ocean campaign and will include print, online, digital and display activity as well as on-air activity with Sport’s sister radio station talkSPORT.


 

NME launches app on Spotify

NME launched its own app on Spotify.The app was built and developed by NME and features recommendations, reviews and curated playlists. It can be found by visiting the Spotify App Finder within the Spotify client.


 

Heat creates first augmented reality issue

Heat Magazine teamed up with aurasma to create its first augmented reality issue to support the launch of new showbiz and music channel Heat TV.The Heat Extra app includes additional free content to the magazine, including videos, competitions and funny sections. The latest issue of the magazine will feature an interactive augmented reality treasure hunt, aimed to raise awareness of Heat TV, which will give away prizes to readers who find the Heat TV logo on Aurasma-enabled pages.


 

Wallpaper* launches Paper Passion fragrance

Wallpaper* launched a new fragrance in a collaboration with German publisher Gerhard Steidl, fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld and perfumer Geza Schoen.Paper Passion has the scent of of freshly printed books and was created by Schoen with five ingredients, including ethyl linoleate and a selection of woody components. The packaging, designed by Lagerfeld, is a real book with a hidden cut-out compartment to house the perfume bottle in the middle.
