Vogue launches 2012 fashion festival
Condé Nast announced it was launching the Vogue festival 2012.The two-day London event, held in association with Vertu, will be held on Friday 20 and Saturday 21 April at The Royal Geographic Society, London. The festival includes talks, performances, debates, makeovers and workshops from fashion’s leading creative talents.
Time Out acquires Whatsonstage.com
Time Out acquired Theatre website Whatsonstage.com for an undisclosed sum.The acquisition is the publisher’s third in three months as part of its online growth strategy. It follows the other deals for daily offers business Kelkoo Select and for the lifestyle club Keynoir.
InStyle agrees John Lewis partnership
InStyle, IPC’s fashion title, secured John Lewis as sponsor of its annual Best Beauty Buys awards.The cross-platform promotion will also see the high street store partner in the launch of a Best Beauty Buys app. As well as sponsoring the awards evening, John Lewis will have activity integrated within the Best Beauty Buys supplement and in-store events, on the website and within the new app.
Nuts interactive magazine gets over 200,000 interactions
IPC Media received over 200,000 interactions following the publication of the first interactive edition of its men’s title Nuts.Published in partnership with software firm Blippar, the interactive print edition included over 20 pieces of additional augmented editorial content that were brought to life by readers via their smartphones. According to IPC, Over 15,000 unique users generated more than 200,000 interactions with the issue within a week.
Newsweek to publish Mad Men special edition
Newsweek unveiled plans that will see it release a throwback 1960s edition to mark the US return of TV drama Mad Men.The one-off special will hit newsstands and be available for the iPad from 19 March ahead of the new series airing six days later.
