Egmont to publish new Disney Magazine Brave

Egmont Publishing Group announced is to launch new DisneyPixar title Brave to tie in with the animation studio’s latest cinema release.The new film is based in the highlands of Scotland and features the voice of Kelly Macdonald as Merida in the lead role. Brave Magazine will feature all the characters from the film as well as stories, fact files, puzzles, activities, drawing and colouring. It is aimed at girls aged 4-8 years old and will be on sale every 4 weeks with a launch cover price of £3.99, dropping to £2.99 from issue three onwards.


 

Future Publishing launches Photography Week

Future Publishing launched a new weekly digital magazine called Photography Week. The tablet-only magazine will be available on the iPad, showing readers how to improve their images and get more from their cameras. On sale in September, Photography Week has been built specifically for the iPad by the team behind Digital Camera World using Future’s digital publishing software Future Folio.


 

Grazia appoints new Fashion Director

Grazia magazine UK appointed Susannah Frankel as its new Fashion Director. Frankel succeeds launch Style Director Paula Reed and will head up the magazine’s fashion team, reporting to Editor-in-Chief Jane Bruton. She joins from her position of Fashion Editor of The Independent, The Independent on Sunday and The Independent ‘i’ where she has worked for the last 13 years. Before joining The Independent, Frankel was the Fashion Editor at The Guardian and she has also contributed to Dazed & Confused, showstudio.com and Vogue UK.


 

Condé Nast Traveller gets a makeover

Condé Nast Traveller unveiled a new design for its September 2012 issue under new Editor Melinda Stevens. On newsstands last week, the new edition implements a fresh re-design and several new editorial sections. New features include a column written by a different celebrity reflecting on their travel escapades, a technology page featuring the latest travel gadgets and a books section reviewing the latest literature.


 

Company magazine creates digital special for Ibiza issue

Company magazine offered its readers totally different print and digital front covers for its Ibiza special issue. A special interactive black and white front cover, featuring Whitney Port, has been designed for the Apple Newsstand alongside a different print cover for the September issue. The digital edition includes behind-the-scenes footage of the cover shoot, a six-page photo spread of Port, and features on her beauty secrets and her style file.
