Q magazine appoints new Editor
Bauer Media appointed a new Editor of its monthly music title Q magazine. Andrew Harrison, The Word Editor-at-Large, has been appointed to the role and takes over from Paul Rees. Harrison joins Bauer Media from Word publisher Development Hell. He is a former Editorial Director of Q, Mixmag and Smash Hits when the music titles were published by Emap.
Total Film publishes interactive issue
Total Film partnered with augmented reality company Blippar to create an interactive print issue. The latest issue enables readers to bring the front cover and pages within the magazine to life via their smartphones and the free Blippar application. The interactive content allows readers to turn themselves into a Total Film cover star, simply by hovering their iPhone or iPad over the cover.
Vogue Festival 2012 announces first speakers
Vogue announced the names of the first speakers at its upcoming live event.Vogue Festival 2012 will feature prominent names from the world of fashion, including Christopher Bailey, Tom Ford, Mary Portas, Nigella Lawson, Matthew Williamson, Diane von Furstenberg, and Natalia Vodianova. Meanwhile, 100 Limited Edition Gold Card tickets have been made available for one week only in advance of general ticketing.
Immediate Media Co. appoints Head of London Specialist Division
Immediate Media Co. appointed Steven Seaton to the position of Managing Director of its London Specialist division.Seaton takes on the newly-created board-level post at the end of the month and will be responsible for all of the publisher’s lifestyle brands, including parenting, outdoor and Gardeners’ World. He will also assume responsibility for the You & Your Wedding and Prima Baby & Pregnancy magazines which were acquired by Immediate Media from Hearst Magazines UK.
