ABC has announced plans that will see it develop a new reporting system that is capable of including four platforms in its analysis.
The new reporting tool will allow users to access data on audience reach across print, online, tablet and social media.
It will also enable aggregation and subtraction of different metrics within and across different platforms, sectors and time periods.
The system is due to launch in late 2012 and will be available across a number of devices including PC, mobile and tablets.
ABC said its new reporting system would also include a dashboard interface that enables users to produce and save bespoke reports that will automatically update with each new data supply.
