Three major country shows have been axed – including the CLA Game Fair, the Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials and Great Yorkshire Show - costing small businesses millions of pounds in lost revenue.

In response, Country Living has created the ‘Show Support’ online directory of exhibitors to encourage people to support the rural economy by buying from the small makers and producers listed there.

On the new section of the Country Living website users will find details about each company and a link to their website.

Country Living Editor, Susy Smith said: “Many of these businesses rely on shows to sell to the public: when the shows are cancelled the effect is catastrophic for small companies who operate on very low margins.

“By creating Show Support, we are encouraging people to put their pound into the rural economy and help small businesses across the country at this extremely challenging time.”
