Esquire US launches new issue with movie style trailer

Hearst's US edition of Esquire is launching its new issue with a movie-style trailer.

The film will be posted to the magazine’s website, Youtube channel and social media platforms this week, according to a report by Mashable.

The cover of the August issue will also feature a prominent QR code that can be scanned to view the short on portable devices.

It features high-quality video of fast cars and beautiful women and cover star actor Jeremy Renner in the lead role ahead of the launch of his Bourne Legacy movie.

David Granger, Esquire Editor-in-Chief, said: “I just wanted to create something entertaining, something that hadn’t been done by magazines before.”

He added that the trailer could become a regular production for Esquire, should the magazine have enough resources to make one every month.
