MagazineCloner, the digital publishing company, has launched a new app called Pocketmags for the iPad.
The app acts as a digital newsstand, offering more than 1,000 titles from publishers around the world and is also available on alternative platforms to iOS, including Android, Kindle Fire and Blackberry.
Pocketmags functionality includes custom-edition software, an in-app help centre and a section called ‘Other titles you may like’.
It also includes a credit-based subscriptions feature that allows readers to purchase a set number of credits that can be used like a normal subscription or on back issues.
Patrick Knight, Strategic Development Director of MagazineCloner, said: “The Pocketmags iPad app is a hugely important launch in our development strategy.
“It adds additional, complimentary distribution for all publishers on the magazine-reading device of choice - both for publishers who offer branded apps through MagazineCloner, and those who do not but wish to benefit from the additional platforms and large existing audience.”
The new app is now available to download from itunes.
