The Beano launches its biggest-ever comic promotion

The Beano is launching a multi-media marketing campaign called Dennis and Gnasher’s Golden Ticket.

The comic promotion offers readers the chance to win superb prizes from a family holiday to Universal Resort Florida, to ride-in Daleks, iPads, toys, games and adventure holidays.

Unique codes are affixed to every promotional copy of The Beano and the monthly BeanoMax title, which can then be entered on the comic’s website for a chance to win a prize.

Publisher DC Thomson said the campaign was the biggest consolidated piece of marketing activity on the comic brand for several years and the UK’s biggest for a comic.

Alongside in-store activity the campaign will be supported by TV advertising across UK children’s channels.

It will also feature online display advertising, PR and social media activity around prize winners.

“We have a wealth of great prizes and are backing this uniquely-themed promotional creative with substantial marketing support, through TV and online advertising as well as enhanced in-store display across the UK and Ireland aimed at driving traffic to UK newsstands, as well as growing our subscription base.”
