Marketforce, the newstrade sales, marketing and distribution company, has appointed Adrian Hughes to the newly-created role of Publishing Services Director.
Effective from 15 October 2012, Hughes will take responsibility for the circulation services provided to both IPC and Marketforce’s third party publishers, as well as the delivery of new independent publishing business to the Marketforce portfolio.
He has over 20 years’ experience within the newspaper and magazine industry, having started his career with the wholesaler Smiths News before moving to circulation roles at publisher D.C.Thomson. Adrian joined Marketforce in 1997 and has since held roles in Retail Sales and the Independent Publishing Group (IPG).
Marketforce Managing Director Stephen Hirst said: “I’m delighted to appoint Adrian to this new and exciting role.
“He is a dynamic leader who has delivered significant circulation success on the UK newsstand in his current role as IPC group circulation director and is recognised across the industry for his expertise.”
Hughes added: “I’m delighted to have the opportunity to work again with our independent publishers, as well as continuing with overall responsibility for IPC Circulation.
“We have brilliant and committed circulation teams and I’m looking forward to supporting them in delivering the sales objectives for all our clients on the UK newsstand.”
At the same time, Dan Fuller is promoted to the role of head of IPC Circulation and will assume day-to-day management responsibility for the department. Dan will continue to report to Adrian Hughes.
