Marie Claire is to launch a new initiative designed to inspire its readers to achieve their career goals.
Marie Claire @work will comprise a bi-annual print supplement, a new channel on www.marieclaire.co.uk and a programme of careers events.
It builds on the IPC title's existing careers editorial and mentoring scheme, which was launched in partnership with The Prince’s Trust in summer 2010 to give readers access to the time and expertise of a host of top businesswomen.
The first Marie Claire @work supplement runs to 32pp and is bound in the November issue. It includes workplace fashion and beauty tips, advice from top businesswomen, and findings from Marie Claire’s work survey.
Advertisers include Banana Republic, Phase Eight, Warehouse and Boden, and there are reader offers from Hobbs and Molton Brown.
The MC@work online channel provides visitors with regularly updated careers news and advice, as well as insight into the careers of Marie Claire’s inspirational mentors. Details of the upcoming Marie Claire @work events programme will also be promoted on the channel.
Trish Halpin, Editor-in-Chief of Marie Claire, said: “Marie Claire readers want to think smart and look amazing. They are typical of the New Type A woman we found in research, wanting to excel in every area of their lives and career is a key priority. With Marie Claire @work, we’re expanding our efforts to help readers achieve their career ambitions and providing an inspirational resource.”
