The winners have been announced for the inaugural Society Awards 2019 held in Aberdeen last night.
Sponsored by Aberdeen Inspired, Society, which is published every Thursday with the Evening Express celebrated the very best businesses and individuals in the north-east’s food and drink, fashion and beauty, entertainment, interiors and tourism industries.
Held at the Sandman Signature Hotel, the brand launched its first ever awards ceremony in a bid to celebrate all that is great about Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire, and spread a positive message across the region.
The awards, hosted by former TV anchor and media consultant Pauline Fraser, welcomed more than 300 guests and a total of 15 accolades were handed out over the course of the evening.
Entertainment was provided by Aberdeen DJ HomeAlone who has supported chart-topping megastar Canadian rapper Drake and singer The WeekEnd, as well as mentalist and magician Ariel Hamui.
Samantha Leckie, Editor of Society, said, “I would like to offer a huge congratulations to not only the winners of the Society Awards, but each and every person who took the time to enter.
“Society reflects the best of Aberdeen and the north-east every week in print, and every day online. The north-east has a lot to be proud of and the Society Awards were a way for us to shout about the city on a bigger scale.
“We are so lucky to have outstanding bars and restaurants, wonderful entertainment venues, and real stars in the world of beauty, fashion, and home interiors – not to mention food and drink producers that are the envy of the nation.
“These businesses and individuals are constantly pushing the boundaries and striving to make the north-east a better place to be. Their drive and passion are things worth celebrating.”
