The second volume of a four-part series, The Beatles Years, is on sale from Anthem Publishing this week. Part of a collection celebrating the life, music and legacy of the band, this second volume – Movies, Mania and MBEs – focuses on the years 1964 to 1965.
Inside this 132-page collector’s edition, readers can find features on the band’s live appearances, from US and world tours to their performance at the first ever stadium rock concert at Shea Stadium, as well as a look at their prolific song writing and the making of their films. Volume 2 also examines how the band charmed the world’s press, the backlash they received after being bestowed MBEs, along with an in-depth look at the music they released running through the heart of the issue.
Editor Neil Crossley said: “We are really pleased to be publishing another brilliant issue of The Beatles Years. 1964 to 1965 are often thought of as the definitive years for The Beatles, so we’ve loved delving into that time in their career. Creating this whole series has really highlighted just how the Fab Four developed into one of the greatest creative and cultural forces the world has ever seen.”
The Beatles Years can be found in stores from 12th September, or online now. You can also buy the Complete Collection, which comes with a selection of four handpicked art cards, and which is available exclusively online.
