WoodWing Group has boosted its capabilities in Enterprise Information Management following an agreement to acquire document management and archiving specialist Expansion.
Headquartered in Rotterdam, Expansion is the author of Xtendis, a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) information management platform used to store and organize business-critical content. Applications for Xtendis include the management of digital client or employee files, financial statements and records as well as invoice processing.
The strategic acquisition allows WoodWing Group to diversify into complementary new business areas, while also providing Expansion with the potential to build on its position in the Dutch market through WoodWing’s global presence and reselling partner network.
Ross Paterson, CEO of WoodWing, said: “We are thrilled to welcome our new colleagues, customers and partners to the WoodWing family. With the addition of Expansion, WoodWing Group enriches its product portfolio with additional cloud-based content management capabilities giving us a stronger position in the Enterprise Information Management market.
“After adding Scienta’s content management and knowledge sharing capabilities to the group earlier this year, we see the addition of Expansion as a great next strategic step in further building an international leading Content Orchestration player.”
Johan Blank, Founder/CEO of Expansion, added: “We are really looking forward to work with the people from WoodWing and their international ecosystem to expand the use of the Xtendis platform into the rest of Europe and the United States. Being part of the WoodWing family will also enable us to offer broader solutions to our current and future customers.”
